THP: Person injured after Wednesday crash on I-75 in Campbell County that closed a lane of traffic

The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the crash was reported at around 6:27 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — A crash in Campbell County closed a lane of I-75 South Wednesday evening, backing traffic up miles before Howard Baker Hwy. The Tennessee Department of Transportation urged drivers to use caution in the area.

Images from the crash showed at least one tractor-trailer was involved in it. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said they were investigating the crash Wednesday evening.

They said one person was injured in the crash, a 43-year-old from Georgia who drove one of the semi-trucks involved. THP said two semi-trucks were driving south on I-75 near Mile Marker 147 in the same lane. They said one tractor-trailer hit the trailer of the other, damaging both trailers and trucks.

The semi-truck that was hit then "came to an uncontrolled rest on the right shoulder" while the other one stopped in the right shoulder as well.

TDOT said it was reported at around 6:27 p.m. Eastern Time.
