SEVIER COUNTY, Tennessee — UPDATE (9 p.m.): The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a man died after his car drove off Boyds Creek Highway and went into a ditch Friday afternoon.
THP said Michael Browning, 74, was going south on Boyds Creek Highway and tried turning around a curve. However, THP's preliminary report said the car went off the road on the right side and into a ditch, before crashing into a culvert.
THP said the car then overturned and stopped in a dry creek bed.

Lanes are closed in both directions at the intersection of Hodges Ferry Road on Boyds Creek Highway due to a multi-vehicle crash, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
The crash was reported at around 1 p.m. near King Estates Road.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Seymour Volunteer Fire Department and EMS have responded to the scene.
Officials have not released information on any injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
