KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man died after a truck hit a bicycle on Washington Pike at Edmondson Lane on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
KPD said police believe a pickup truck was driving on Washington Pike around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday when a bicyclist suddenly pulled out into the truck's path, causing the truck to hit the 21-year-old bicyclist.
The victim was taken to UT Medical Center in critical condition, KPD said. The victim died overnight from his injuries, police said.
This case is under investigation by KPD crash reconstruction personnel.
