KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Millions of dollars are expected to go towards improving a Farragut interchange after Governor Bill Lee announced funds to improve the state's infrastructure.
Farragut Mayor Ron Willims said $48 million will go towards improving the I-40, I-75 and Campbell Station Road interchange. He said redesigning the interchange would ease congestion in Farragut, and $35 million would go towards the interchange at Watt Road.
"Being proactive, trying to look ahead with a vision that we need to develop our exits and our secondary roads and make sure that we can handle the traffic as it gets here," he said.
He said the process to improve the interchanges started around 5 years ago.
