ALCOA, Tenn. — The driver involved in a wrong-way crash on Alcoa Highway has died from his injuries, the Alcoa Police Department said.
Jose Ramos was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Alcoa Highway when he crashed head-on into another car on Saturday, Sept. 7, according to APD.
Ramos was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, APD said.
Both the driver and passenger of the other car were transported to UTMC with serious injuries but have since been released, according to APD.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, APD said.
