Vols AD Phillip Fulmer to serve as honorary '12th Titan' before season finale vs. Jaguars

Phillip Fulmer, named the school's athletics director on Dec. 1, will be the honorary "12th Titan" before the Titans' regular-season finale against the Jaguars on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Former University of Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer, named the school's athletics director on Dec. 1, will be the honorary "12th Titan" before the Titans' regular-season finale against the Jaguars on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

The Titans can clinch their first playoff berth since 2008 with a victory.

Tennessee hired Fulmer to replace John Currie after UT became a national punchline during its botched search for a football coach, following the dismissal of Butch Jones.

Fan uproar led to a failed deal with Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano.

The Volunteers hired former Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt as head coach on Dec. 7.

Fulmer had a 152-52 record as coach of the Tennessee football team from 1992 to 2008, and led the Vols to the 1998 national championship

Brooke Eden will sing the national anthem at Sunday's game, and fans will receive a 2018 Titans calendar.
