(WBIR - KNOXVILLE) - University of Tennessee offensive lineman Coleman Thomas faces an April 29 preliminary hearing in Knox County General Sessions Court.

At the hearing, Knox County prosecutors can offer proof to a judge on why they allege Thomas, 19, committed felony theft of an Xbox player and games as charged. The judge will decide if there is probable cause to believe Thomas committed the crime. If the judge finds probable cause exists, he or she can send it to a grand jury.

Thomas had a scheduled arraignment Tuesday in General Sessions Court.

He is accused of stealing a UT student's Xbox One game player along with three games. The Virginia sophomore faces one count of theft between $500 and $1,000.

The items area alleged to have been taken from James Shelton's dorm room at Reese Hall on campus March 13, just before spring break, according to court documents. The victim told investigators he thought the theft occurred sometime that afternoon.

Records allege Thomas sold the Xbox and games to Game Stop on Clinton Highway on the same day at around 6:15 p.m.

The theft loss was estimated at $640. The cost to reimburse Game Stop was $176, according to records.
