KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — There are just over 200 days left until the 2024 Paris Olympics, and some of the world's best swimmers will be stopping in Knoxville next week before getting the chance to appear on the international stage.
The TYR Pro Swim Series will be held at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee's campus. This event starts on Jan. 10 and runs until the 13th and is stop one of three.
Swimmers will be competing to head to the Olympic swim trials. These are set for June 15 - 23 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Each stop brings in about 600 of the best swimmers in the world, hoping to meet the qualifying times in their categories and events.
Some of the big names competing this year are Katie Ledecky, Kate Douglass, Ryan Murphy and Caeleb Dressel.
The next stops after Knoxville are Westmont, Illinois on March 6 - 9th and San Antonio, Texas on April 10 - 13th. Knoxville has been a part of the series since 2019, making this the sixth year UT has hosted the event.
