LAS VEGAS — The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will battle for the Super Bowl 58 title in Las Vegas.

The two former Tennessee Vols will meet on the field for the first time since 2019, but this time as opponents. Kansas City offensive lineman Trey Smith and 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings will battle it out on Feb. 11.

A Chiefs win would give Smith his second straight Super Bowl win. Last season, he started for Kansas City in the 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jennings will make his first Super Bowl appearance. The VFL played at UT from 2015 to 2019 and was voted MVP his senior year. As a 49er this season, he accounted for 19 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown.

No matter the outcome, a Tennessee native will take a ring home. Ironically, Jennings is from Murfreesboro, and Smith is from Jackson.

Their appearances will give Tennessee 74 former players who have been to a Super Bowl. The game time for this season's final NFL matchup is at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on CBS.
