KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello earned National Coach of the Year honors by D1Baseball.com on Tuesday afternoon. He was also tabbed the nation's top coach by Baseball America and the American Baseball Coaches Association earlier this month.
Vitello, who led Tennessee to its first national championship is the only head coach in program history to earn national coach of the year honors by multiple outlets and this is the second time doing so. His first was back in 2021.
He has been named national coach of the year six times in his career at Tennessee, but this is his first by D1Baseball.com.
This year, Vitello was also chosen as the ABCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year for the third time in the last four seasons.
