KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee football will be making a trip to the Sunshine State for a bowl game for the second year in a row, this time to Orlando for a Citrus Bowl matchup against Iowa.

The Vols will be making their sixth Citrus Bowl appearance.

Tennessee is 4-1 all-time in the game, with the Vols' most recent appearance coming in a 45-17 victory against Michigan on January 1, 2002.

In the past, UT has beaten Northwestern, Ohio State and Maryland. Tennessee’s one Citrus Bowl loss dates back to 1994 in a 31-13 defeat against Penn State.

In 1987, the game moved to a New Year’s Day date and has remained a New Year’s Day tradition except when the holiday falls on a Sunday.

The Vols will take on the Hawkeyes at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at 1 p.m.
