FORT WORTH, Texas — Tennessee third baseman Billy Amick became the third Vol picked in the 2024 MLB Draft when he was selected 60th overall by the Minnesota Twins at the Cowtown Coliseum in Forth Worth, Texas.

The Clemson transfer had an impressive first season as a Vol to help Tennessee to their first-ever national title. In 2024, Amick hit .306 with 23 home runs in 65 games.

In 65 starts, the Batesburg, South Carolina native tallied 78 hits, 65 RBIs, and 67 runs scored.

Amick's post-season success helped Tennessee to its first-ever national championship. It started in the Knoxville Regional where he hit a grand slam, tallied seven total RBIs, and scored four runs.

Against Evansville in the Knoxville Super Regional, he blasted two home runs, notched four RBIs, scored five runs and had five total hits. In the College World Series finals, he had two hits during the first game against Florida State. One of them was a clutch single to keep UT alive in the ninth inning. That hit led to a walk-off win for Tennessee.
