Tennessee jumps two spots to No. 19 in AP Top 25 poll

The Vols jumped from No. 21 to No. 19 after an impressive offensive performance against Kentucky on Saturday.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee football has jumped the rankings in the Associated Press Poll to No. 19.

UT climbed the rankings after a 33-27 victory against Kentucky on Saturday. The Vols led throughout the duration of the game and were able to close out despite the Wildcats cutting into their lead. 

Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton completed more than 85 percent of his passes and threw for 228 yards throughout the game. The run game was also another bright spot in this matchup, with Jaylen Wright and sophomore Dylan Sampson combining for 195 yards on the ground. 

The Vols are now 6-2 overall and 3-2 in SEC play. 

UT returns home this Saturday to take on a non-conference opponent. The UConn Huskies will make their way to Neyland Stadium for the 12 pm. matchup. You can watch the broadcast on SEC Network.
