No. 11 Tennessee loses game to No. 18 Florida State in final moments, 92-91

The Lady Vols had chances to win at the end of the game but came up short. Rickea Jackson had 31 points and 17 rebounds in the loss.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — No. 11 Tennessee came up just short against No. 18 Florida State on the road on Thursday night, losing 92-91 in the final moments.

UT trailed by as many as double-digits in the second half. They fought back. 

Down 66-58, the Lady Vols went on a 16-2 run, led by Tess Darby who scored eight points in that stretch including two three-pointers. That put Tennessee up 74-68.

Florida State would tie the game in the early fourth quarter and it was back-and-forth scoring form there.,

UT led 91-88 with under a minute to go in the game.  Amaya Bonner made a three-pointer for Florida State to tie the game with 52 seconds to go. FSU made a free throw with 24 seconds to go to take a 92-91 lead.

Tennessee had a chance to win the game in the final moments, but Rickea Jackson and Jewel Spear could not make it on two attempts for UT.

Jackson finished the game with 31 points, 17 rebounds and four assists. Spear had 18 points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Lady Vols host Memphis at home on Nov. 13 for their next game.
