KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee basketball's Jahmai Mashack organized a virtual food drive with Second Harvest Food Bank this holiday season and made a big impact on the Knoxville community.

The senior guard posted on social media in November that he wanted to feed 100 families from East Tennessee.

"Vol Nation! Giving back has always been a priority for my family and me," said Mashack. "I challenge you, if it's in your heart, to help me feed 30 families this Thanksgiving. Let's team up on a virtual food drive & I'll start it off!"

Since the start of the food drive, $14,700 was raised and 21,335 pounds of food were distributed to 398 households.

"This is something that's super important to me, it's something that I've always done," Mashack said. "My family has really taught me to give and that's probably one of the most important things, especially when you have a platform like I have."
