Tennessee becomes first team in NCAA history with five players to hit 20 or more home runs in a season

Christian Moore, Billy Amick, Dylan Dreiling, Kavares Tears and Blake Burke all have at least 20 home runs on the season for the Vols.

OMAHA, Neb. — After Blake Burke hit his 20th home run of the season against Florida State in the College World Series, Tennessee baseball became the first team in NCAA history with five players to hit 20 or more home runs in a single season.

Burke hit the solo homer in the top of the ninth inning to extend Tennessee's lead to 7-2 on Wednesday night.

Christian Moore, Billy Amick, Dylan Dreiling and Kavares Tears are the four other players to reach 20 or more long balls. Moore leads the team with 33 home runs, Amick has 23, and Dreiling and Tears each have 20.

Tennessee leads the country in home runs hit this season, with 177 total on the year. The five Vols with 20 or more make up 116 of that total. Dean Curly has the sixth most with 12 this season.

In 1997, Alabama had four players with 20-plus home runs, making Tennessee the first team in NCAA history to have five.

Tennessee will play Texas A&M in the College World Series finals.
