KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Baseball swept the series against Bowling Green in Sunday’s finale inside Lindsey Nelson Stadium. It was a run-rule victory to cap off a 16-6 win over the Falcons. In all three games against the Falcons, the run rule was put into effect.
The Vols completed their second consecutive series sweep, extended their win streak to ten and remain perfect at home so far this season.
The Vol’s offense was hot from the start. Cannon Pebbles and Dalton Bargo led the team with three hits each, combining for four RBIs and four runs scored in the matchup.
Dylan Dreiling posted a career-best four RBIs on two hits, which included a three-run home run.
Tennessee used eight pitchers on the day. Freshman Derek Schaefer got the start and pitched 1.1 innings, allowing two runs, one hit and two walks.
Veteran lefty Kirby Connell had an effective day on the mound and got his first win of the season after striking out two batters in one inning of work.
Next up, the 11-1 Vols play Kansas State on Tuesday for another home game. The first pitch will be at 6 p.m.
