KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Lenoir City High School has named Scott Cummings as their new football head coach, according to the school's athletic department.
His last head coaching gig was at Oak Ridge High School in 2022 for one season. His coaching career began in the 1990s as a volunteer assistant, but in 2002, he first became a head coach at West. In 2014, Cummings led the team to a State Championship title. The following year he moved to Cleveland and took over as head coach at Cleveland High School.
He was there for four years before taking a head coaching job at Halls for the next three years.
He has coached a team to the state semifinals in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014. His team made state championship appearances in 2013 and 2014. He has 22 years of head coaching experience.
