The SEC announced on Tuesday that Tennessee star forward Rickea Jackson was named SEC Player of the Week.
Jackson had been out for 8-straight games due to a lower leg injury she endured earlier in the season, but with her back on the court, the Lady Vols have won their last five matchups.
The team is also 2-0 in conference play with wins against Auburn and Kentucky. Jackson averaged a double-double of 25.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in those two SEC wins.
She also shot 54.3 from the field, 40 percent from three, and made 73.3 percent of her free throws.
Tennessee was trailing by 17 points in the second quarter against the Wildcats, but Jackson played a major part in the comeback win on Sunday. She notched 16 points just in the second half and totaled 27 on the day, while also picking up seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
With her back on the court, head coach Kellie Harper says she changes the game on both ends of the ball. On the season so far, Jackson is averaging 21.2 points per game, 10.5 rebounds per game, shooting 48.5 percent from the field, and 33.3 percent from the arc.
