Chris Thomas: "One of the best rivalries in the state of Tennessee, quite frankly one of the best high school rivalries in the country. 29 combined state championships. You look at the two coaches in this game, George Quarles of Maryville and Gary Rankin of Alcoa- both have won 11 state titles. I look at these two offenses, I think there are two championship caliber offenses here. Maryville, Dylan Hopkins has been good. Jordan Ervin the talented running back, we saw how good he was against a fast Fulton team. Then I look at this Alcoa defense. This is the first true test for a defense that lost five Division I football players off it last year, including 3 Mr. Football Finalists."
