NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee State Parks said it's hosting free hikes on Saturday as part of its "Signature Hike" series.
Spring Hikes is the second state-wide hiking event from the Tennessee State Parks so far this year. The hikes will be guided by park staff who will highlight different features of the parks.
The hikes being offered in the East Tennessee region are at:
- Big Ridge State Park
- David Crockett Birthplace State Park
- Fort Loudoun State Historic Park
- Frozen Head State Park
- Indian Mountain State Park
- Norris Dam State Park
- Panther Creek State Park
- Red Clay State Historic Park
- Roan Mountain State Park
- Rocky Fork State Park
- Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park
Hikes range from easy to moderate, difficult or strenuous. Participants are asked to wear closed-toe shoes, dress accordingly for the weather and bring bottled water, Tennessee State Parks said.
“This is a great opportunity to experience your favorite park in a new way or get to know a new park,” Deputy Commissioner for the TN Department of Environment and Conservation Greer Tidwell said. “It’s a chance to get out and exercise, enjoy nature, meet other people, and learn about the park.”
