MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. — Explorers headed to two popular East Tennessee parks will be able to enjoy lunch as they learn about the area starting Friday.
On July 3, officials with Obed Wild and Scenic River will start their "Lunch and Learn" program through a partnership with Morgan County School Food Services and Frozen Head State Park. Food will be given to participants through the Summer Feeding Program.
Officials said the series will be available for everyone, regardless of where they live. It will include in-person, ranger-led programs at Frozen Head State Park and self-guided activities at the Obed Wild and Scenic River Visitor Center parking lot.
The programs are free and will be held every Friday in July. Details about them can be found below:
- July 3 (10:30 a.m.): "Flat Fork Creek Crawl," Frozen Head State Park - Shelter B
- July 10 (10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.): "Our Beautiful World Scavenger Hunt," Obed Wild and Scenic River Visitor Center parking lot
- July 17 (10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.): "Only at the Obed," Obed Wild and Scenic River Visitor Center parking lot
- July 24 (10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.): "What is under the water?", Obed Wild and Scenic River Visitor Center parking lot
- July 31 (10:30 a.m.): "Half Mile Interpretive Hike," Frozen Head State Park - Old Mac Trail Head
