Tennessee defensive lineman Omari Thomas announces he is returning next year

Thomas has played his first four seasons with UT. He has one year of eligibility left.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Tennessee football defensive lineman Omari Thomas announced on his social media Thursday that he will be returning to the Vols next season.

He has played the first four years of college at UT and is on the leadership council for the team.

He has played in 11 games this season totaling a sack and 4.5 tackles for loss. He also had 31 tackles. In 2022, Thomas had two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss along with four pass deflections and one forced fumble.

Thomas has one year of eligibility remaining.

"I've enjoyed playing alongside my teammates and building a true brotherhood. However, I think we can take it a little bit further." Thomas wrote in his post. "With that being said, I will be returning to the University of Tennessee for my final season! Let's run it back one last time."
