PARIS, France — The commentators calling the gymnastics action at the Paris Olympics for NBC include some familiar names and faces, as well as plenty of Olympic medal hardware to boot.
The group is part of the more than 150 commentators tasked with bringing the excitement of the Summer Games to fans back home in America.
Here's a look at who is calling the action for Thursday's women's all-around final.
Laurie Hernandez
Hernandez, a 2016 gold medalist, is handling the live, daytime analyst gymnastics role at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was also an analyst during the games in Tokyo, but that wasn't the original plan. An injury she suffered ultimately cost her a spot at the Olympic trials in 2021. Hernandez won silver on the balance beam and gold in the team event at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Rich Lerner
Lerner joins as live, daytime play-by-play. This is his fourth time covering the Olympics; he started with golf coverage during the 2016 Rio Olympics. According to NBC, he's been a GOLF Channel "mainstay" since 1997, as both a host and play-by-play commentator.
Justin Spring
Spring will make his debut as a live, daytime analyst alongside Hernandez. He won a bronze medal in Artistic Gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympics,
Zora Stephenson
Stephenson will report for both the live daytime and primetime show. According to NBC, she's also a sideline reporter for Notre Dame Football and Big Ten Football. The network also notes that Stephenson was the "first woman to handle play-by-play" for a Milwaukee Bucks game in 2021.
John Roethlisberger
Roethlisberger will serve as an analyst and reporter for the primetime show. He's a three-time Olympic gymnast: 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney.
Samantha Peszek
Peszek will also be making her Olympics debut as an analyst for the primetime show. She won a silver medal in 2008 and has several NCAA balance beam awards as well.
Tim Daggett
Daggett will join Peszek as an analyst for the primetime show. He won both a gold medal and a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympics. Daggett also helped UCLA win the NCAA title that same year.
Terry Gannon
Gannon will handle play-by-play for the primetime show. He joined NBC Sports in 2010 and this is his "seventh overall Olympics assignment," according to the network. NBC also notes that Gannon was a member of the 1983 North Carolina State University basketball team -- the Wolfpack won a National Championship that year.
