PARIS, France — Cierra Burdick is officially an Olympic medalist! Team USA beat Canada in the Bronze Medal Final on Monday at LaConcorde 1, 16-13.

The team included Burdick, Dearica Hamby, Rhyne Howard and Hailey Van Lith.

Cierra Burdick is the 15th Lady Vol basketball player to earn an opportunity to compete in the Olympic Games.

Burdick, a veteran of the USA 3x3 women's basketball program, is the first UT woman to compete in that event at the Olympics. The 2023 gold medalist on the USA's Pan American Games and FIBA World Cup 3x3 squads joins three other Americans to represent the United States.

Team USA did not have a great start in the pool round after losing to Germany, Azerbaijan and Australia. But Team USA had a comeback after defeating Spain, France and Canada in the pool rounds.

Team USA defeated China in the last pool round, 14-12, went against China again in the play-in round, and won again, 21-13 on Saturday. Burdick shined in that tournament by scoring 5 points and 8 rebounds.
