KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — No. 8 Tennessee Baseball bounced back from its first home loss of the season with the series finale win over Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The 15-4 victory was led by a steady offensive outing from the Vols.

Tennessee got on the board early. Kavares Tears slammed the first of five home runs on the day. His second big swing of the weekend scored two runs and the Vols led 2-0 after the first inning.

After the Rebels scored a run in the second, Tennessee really kicked things into gear. The bottom of the third included two and three-run homers from Christian Moore and Dylan Dreiling to make it 7-1.

The Vols put the game away with a six-run fifth inning that ended with a grand slam from Billy Amick. The Vols had 13 hits on the day, with Tears and Curly leading with three apiece.

On the mound, left-hand pitcher Zander Sechrist earned his second start of the week in the SEC matchup. He pitched 2.1 innings before Nate Snead took the spot on the mound. Sechrist allowed five hits and one run while striking out three players.

Snead pitched 4.2 innings, setting a career-high six strikeouts, not allowing a walk.

Tennessee is now 5-1 in conference play. The team will play Tennessee Tech at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Tuesday, March 26. The first pitch will be at 6 p.m.
