KNOXVILLE, Tenn — No. 17 Tennessee snapped a three-game losing streak by beating George Mason 87-66 on Tuesday night inside the Food City Center.
It was the first home game for UT in 21 days after a stretch playing on the road in the Maui Invitational and on the road against North Carolina.
Jonas Aidoo led the way for Tennessee with 17 points 7 of 11 shooting. He also had 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Josiah-Jordan James had 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting. He had 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
Dalton Knecht played after twisting his ankle against North Carolina. He scored 10 points. Tobe Awaka returned after missing the North Carolina game and contributed 11 points and 7 rebounds. Freddie Dilione played his first game since mid November after dealing with a foot injury and he scored 3 points in limited minutes.
The Vols play No. 20 Illinois next at home on Dec. 9 at noon inside the Food City Center.
