KODAK, Tenn. — The Tennessee Smokies made their "last first day" in Kodak a memorable one with a walk-off win against Rocket City in extra innings on Friday night.

The Smokies piled on five runs in the first inning, but the team didn't plate another until the tenth and then Haydn McGeary delivered with a game-winning RBI single to propel Tennessee to a 7-6 victory against the Trash Pandas.

Tennessee's first-inning flurry was capped off with a three-run home run from Pablo Aliendo that made it a 5-0 game. Haydn McGeary got the scoring started with an RBI sacrifice fly, followed by an RBI single from Christian Franklin to bring home Cole Roederer.

Rocket City tied the game up with a four-run second inning and then another run in the fourth to ultimately send the game to extra innings.

Smokies pitcher Jake Reindl got credit for the win in the opener. He entered in the tenth inning and allowed one run while striking out two batters.

Tennessee improved to 1-0 this season and will continue the series against Rocket City on Saturday, Apr. 6 at 7 p.m.
