CHICAGO — Former Tennessee pitcher and White Sox starter Garrett Crochet is heading to his first career MLB All-Star Game.
The former first-round pick was announced to the 2024 American League All-Star team on Sunday, making him the eighth Vol to be selected to an All-Star Game and the first since Yan Gomes in 2018.
Crochet is in the midst of a stellar season in Chicago and currently leads the MLB in strikeouts with 146 K's in his first season as a starting pitcher. Crochet has pitched 105.1 innings and has a 6-6 record through 13 appearances.
The 2024 All-Star Game will be played in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, July 16.
