KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee football has received a commitment from LSU offensive tackle and former five-star recruit Zalance Heard from the transfer portal.
Heard comes to Rocky Top after just one season at LSU where he played in 12 games and started one contest for the Tigers as a true freshman during the 2023 season. He was ranked as the third-best offensive tackle and a top-15 recruit in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports composite ranking.
The highly-coveted transfer portal addition fills a major position of need for Tennessee after losing right tackle Gerald Mincey to the transfer portal and also missing out on top 2024 recruit Jordan Seaton last month.
The Vols will return veterans Cooper Mays and John Campbell Jr. on the offensive line next season along with Dayne Davis, who announced his return earlier this month.
