KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee women’s basketball picked up a Senior Night victory against Texas A&M in their final home game of the regular season on Thursday night.
Rickea Jackson took over for a 27-point performance in what will likely be her final game inside the Food City Center as the Lady Vols pulled away for a 75-66 victory against the Aggies.
Senior guard Jewel Spear finished second on the team in scoring with 16 points, while Tamari Key finished with nine points and also scored her 1,000th point with a layup in the fourth quarter.
Tennessee dominated the Aggies in the board battle and outrebounded Texas A&M 44-28, including a 12-8 margin on the offensive glass. Tamari Key led the Lady Vols with seven rebounds, while Jackson and Tess Darby each pulled down six rebounds in the win.
The Lady Vols close out the season with a challenging bout against top-ranked, undefeated South Carolina on the road on Sunday, March 3 at 12 p.m. before the team looks ahead to the SEC Tournament.
