Lady Vols move on to SEC semifinals, take down Alabama 83-61

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Tennessee women's basketball rolled past Alabama in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C. on Friday afternoon.

Jewel Spear and Rickea Jackson proved to be a dominant one-two punch for Tennessee in an 83-61 win against Alabama as the Lady Vols earned a spot in the SEC semifinals for the fourth consecutive season.

Spear was on fire in the first half and went into halftime a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range. The performance continued into the second half and Spear finished the game a perfect 6-for-6 from distance, and 8-for-11 from the field overall.

Jackson also lit up the scoreboard against the Crimson Tide with 22 points and also pulled down nine rebounds in the win.

Tennessee will take on top-ranked, undefeated South Carolina on Saturday afternoon in the SEC semifinals on Saturday, March 9 at 4:30 p.m. The Lady Vols were swept by the Gamecocks in two regular season games this year.
