KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee fifth-year guard Dalton Knecht has been named the Associated Press national player of the week following two outstanding performances in a pair of conference victories for the Vols.

Knecht put the college basketball world on notice with a 39-point performance in Tennessee's 85-66 victory over Florida at home on Tuesday and also added eight rebounds in the win. He followed that up with 25 points in Tennessee's 91-71 win against Alabama at home to bring his two-game average to 32 points and six rebounds.

The fifth-ranked Vols enjoy a long break before they return to action against in-state foe Vanderbilt on Saturday, Jan. 27 in Nashville at 6 p.m.
