HOOVER, Ala. — Top-ranked Tennessee baseball will take on in-state rival Vanderbilt in the second round of the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Ala. on Wednesday night.
The eighth-seeded Commodores took down Florida on Tuesday night, 6-3, to advance out of the second round and take on the Vols.
Tennessee has won eight of its last nine matchups against Vanderbilt, including a victory against the Commodores en route to the 2022 SEC Tournament title.
Vanderbilt snapped its losing streak against the Vols in Tennessee's final road game of the regular season with a 3-0 shutout win in Nashville. That loss was also the Vols' first and only shutout loss of the 2024 regular season.
Tennessee's SEC Tournament game against Vanderbilt is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. EDT at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Ala. The SEC Tournament will run through Sunday, May 26 with the championship game set for Sunday at 3 p.m. EDT.
