Tennessee baseball celebrates SEC Tournament championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee baseball has earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, announced during the selection show on Monday afternoon.

The Vols earned the top bid for the second time in three years following their No. 1 seed in 2022. The Vols will host Northern Kentucky, Indiana and Southern Mississippi in the Knoxville Regional starting Friday, May 31 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

All regional sites are scheduled to play from Friday, May 31 to Monday, June 3 (if necessary).

Tennessee goes into the NCAA Tournament riding a 50-win campaign and a sweep of the SEC regular season and tournament titles. The Vols defeated LSU, 4-3, in the conference championship game on Sunday night in Hoover, Ala.

Tennessee gets to host a regional for the third time in the last four years. The Vols missed out on being selected as a host site in 2023, but still managed to get through the Clemson Regional and the Hattiesburg Super Regional to return to the College World Series.

Selection of the eight super regional sites will take place on Tuesday, June 4 following the conclusion of the regional rounds.
