KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee right guard Javontez Spraggins will return to Tennessee next season, Tennessee Athletics confirmed to WBIR on January 23.

Spraggins also announced his return on January 25, simply saying "I'm back."

The right guard started 11 games for the Vols in 2023 and only allowed two sacks in 699 offensive snaps.

Spraggins suffered a season-ending injury against Georgia on Nov. 18.

In his career, he has played in 45 games and started 37, with 35 starts coming at right guard.

The offensive lineman is known as the Zookeeper for the stuffed animals he brings on the field of the opponent’s mascot after a victory.

He returns at a key position on the offensive line that will be tasked with protecting quarterback Nico Iamaleava next season. He also joins fellow returners Cooper Mays, John Campbell Jr. and Dayne Davis up front, along with key transfer portal acquisition Zalance Heard from LSU.
