KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The 12th-ranked Tennessee men's basketball team took care of Georgia Southern inside the Food City Center Tuesday night for the Vols' third win in a row and their 26th win in a row at home against a non-conference opponent.

Junior forward Jonas Aidoo took over with a career-high 29 points in the 74-56 win against the Eagles. His previous career-high was 17 points set just two games ago, and Aidoo had recorded 21 points by the end of the first half on Tuesday. He also pulled down a game-high eleven rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

Tennessee explored its depth against Georgia Southern, with 12 players seeing action for the Vols and all of them recording points in the victory. Dalton Knect, Jordan Gainey and Tobe Awaka all tied for second on the team with seven points, but Aidoo was the only double-digit scorer for UT.

Tennessee struggled in the second half and was outscored by Georgia Souther, 35-25. The Vols shot eight-for-28 after halftime and one-for-12 from three-point range with 12 second-half turnovers. Tennessee shot 18-for-30 in the first half and four-for-eight behind the arc with seven turnovers in the first half. The Vols put up 49 points in the opening 20 minutes and just 25 in the second half.

The Vols will square off against NC State on Saturday, Dec. 16 on a neutral court in San Antonio, TX. Tip-off for that game is set for 10 p.m.
