KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee senior guard Jewel Spear has been named SEC Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Spear led the Lady Vols in scoring in both of their wins last week against Georgia and Missouri. Spear scored 25 points against the Lady Bulldogs and followed that up with a 22-point game against Missouri on Sunday. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in that stretch.
The Wake Forest transfer has turned up her game since conference play began and has pushed her SEC scoring average to 17.4 points per game and 13.8 for the season overall.
Spear is the second Lady Vol to be named SEC Player of the Week after Rickea Jackson earned the honor on January 9.
