KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — After announcing his commitment on social media, former Hofstra guard Darlinstone Dubar committed to Tennesse men's basketball on Monday.
Dubar is the first off-season roster addition from the transfer portal. He played and started in all 33 games for the Pride, averaging 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in his senior season at Hofstra.
Out of high school, the 6-foot-8, 211-pounder started his college career at Iowa State. He only played in 16 games, so the move to Hofstra gave him a more significant role, and he became an elite scorer for three straight seasons.
The departure of outgoing seniors Joshiah-Jordan James, Santiago Vescovi and Dalton Knecht, along with the entry of Jonas Aidoo, Tobe Awaka and redshirt freshmen guards Freddie Dilione V and D.J. Jefferson into the portal, has led to significant changes in the Tennessee men's basketball roster.
Tennessee has five remaining scholarships left. Four-star guard Bishop Boswell is one incoming signee the Vols have picked up. Recruiting will remain a priority in rebuilding this team for next season.
