Fulton hoops twins Taj, Denaj Kimber sign with Tusculum University

The four-year starters led the Falcons to back-to-back 3A state titles in 2023 and 2024.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Fulton boys' basketball standouts and twin brothers Taj and Denaj Kimber officially signed on to play college basketball at Tusculum University on Wednesday afternoon.

The twins were four-year starters for the Falcons and helped lead the team to back-to-back 3A state titles in their final two years at Fulton. Those titles marked the second time in program history that Fulton has won back-to-back championships.

The 2024 Falcons set a school record with 35 wins and Taj Kimber scored 12.7 points per game while Denaj averaged 11.2 points per game. Both players were named to the TSSAA All-State Tournament team.

The two said it was never a question that they would play college basketball on the same team.

"My brother always told me, 'Wherever you go, I'm going,'" Denaj said.

"We've been dreaming about this since we were five years old when we started playing basketball," Taj said. "This is like a dream come true."

Fulton head coach Jody Wright said he had never seen a school recruit players as hard as Tusculum did for the Kimber twins. Wright also said he has never seen a set of twins as close as these two.

"They're together all the time, and I mean all the time," Wright said. "Every brother or sister relationship I've ever seen, they fight like cats and dogs. These guys never do."
