SAN FRANCISCO — Former Tennessee teammates Dalton Knecht and Santiago Vescovi went head-to-head in an NBA Summer League matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday night.
Vescovi's Warriors came away with a resounding 92-68 victory, but both VFLs were on display in the matchup.
Knecht posted a team-high 12 points on 3-of-13 shooting, including a 1-for-3 three-point shooting effort. He also went a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line and picked up two rebounds, an assist and two steals. Knecht has scored 12 points in each of his first two professional outings in the NBA Summer League.
Vescovi scored his first points as a professional in the matchup and finished the night with six points on a highly efficient 3-of-4 shooting night. he also went 0-for-1 from the free throw line and recorded three rebounds and an assist in the victory.
The NBA Summer League California Classic concludes on Wednesday, July 10 for the Lakers and Warriors. Los Angeles will take on the Miami Heat at 7 p.m. EDT, while the Warriors will battle the Sacramento Kings at 10 p.m. EDT.
