EAGAN, Minn. — Coalfield alum and former Eastern Kentucky star quarterback Parker McKinney took part in the Minnesota Vikings rookie minicamp in Eagan, Minn. over the weekend.
McKinney was one of only two quarterbacks to be participating, along with Minnesota's 2024 first-round pick JJ McCarthy.
There were a total of 45 minicamp participants, including 17 undrafted rookies.
The 2017 Tennessee Class 1A Mr. Football winner just concluded a six-year career at Eastern Kentucky full of accolades. McKinney was named ASUN Offensive Player of the Year in 2022 and finished his career with 12,751 passing yards and 94 touchdowns with a 63% completion rate in 53 games played. He also rushed for 1,671 yards and 23 more scores on the ground.
Following rookie minicamp, the Vikings' OTAs will begin on May 20 and the team's mandatory minicamp is set for June 4-6.
