GATLINBURG, Tenn. — Brad Waggoner, the Gatlinburg-Pittman football head coach, has stepped down after three years at the helm of the Highlanders, he told WBIR on Wednesday.
"I have made a very tough decision to leave Gatlinburg-Pittman for another opportunity," Waggoner said. "I want to thank this community and everyone here that has taken my family in and been so good to us."
Waggoner told WBIR he has accepted a position as head football coach and athletic director at Blountstown High School in Florida.
Waggoner spent three years as the head coach at Gatlinburg-Pittman and guided the team to winning seasons all three years, including 11-win campaigns in his final two seasons, including a region title in 2023.
"I will always be rooting for you guys and Gatlinburg-Pittman!" Waggoner said in a statement.
