KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Blake Burke set a new Tennessee home run record with his 41st big swing against Auburn on Saturday afternoon. The junior first baseman tied up Luc Lipcius' record of 40 in a game against Georgia at the end of March.
As a freshman, Burke racked up 14 home runs as a backup, 16 as a full-time starter in his sophomore season, and now, in his junior season, he has 11 to become the first Vol to surpass the previous record.
Burke hit 41 homers in 138 games to set the new record. In the first inning of his final game in 2022, Lipcius set the previous UT record in his 218th career game.
Christian Moore sits at third with 39 big swings, tied up with former Vol Evan Russell who reached that mark as a graduate student in 2022.
