KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The 22 teams participating in our 10Tailgate this season made a massive difference!
Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee held a Tackling Hunger food drive between the two featured schools each week—$19,406 was raised and 6,754 pounds of food were collected.
Here's each school we'll be visiting each week during 10Tailgate this season:
- Week 1: Fulton at Central on August 23
- Central and Fulton collectively raised $600 for Second Harvest Food Bank to help tackle hunger in East Tennessee!
- Week 2: Alcoa at Bearden on August 30
- Alcoa and Bearden collectively raised more than $2,500 and an additional 536 pounds of food for Second Harvest!
- Week 3: Sevier County at Lenoir City on September 6
- Sevier County and Lenoir City collectively raised more than $2,200 for Second Harvest Food Bank!
- Week 4: Austin-East at Gatlinburg-Pittman on September 13
- Austin-East and Gatlinburg-Pittman collectively raised more than $1,800 and donated 128 pounds of food for Second Harvest!
- Week 5: Lakeway Christian at Christian Academy of Knoxville on September 20
- Lakeway and CAK collectively raised more than $3,000 and donated 541 pounds of food!
- Week 6: Clinton at Oak Ridge on September 27
- Clinton and Oak Ridge collectively raised more than $1,100 for Second Harvest Food Bank!
- Week 7: Kingston at Loudon on October 4
- Kingston and Loudon collectively raised $1,853 for Second Harvest Food Bank, with Kingston also donating 397 pounds of food!
- Week 8: Gibbs at Carter on October 11
- Gibbs and Carter collectively raised over $2,900 for Second Harvest Food Bank and donated over 1,800 pounds of food!
- Week 9: Farragut at Jefferson County on October 18
- Farragut and Jefferson County collectively raised over $1,300 for Second Harvest Food Bank. Jefferson County donated over 1,000 pounds worth of food!
- Week 10: Alcoa at Maryville on October 25
- Maryville and Alcoa collectively raised over $600 for Second Harvest Food Bank!
- Week 11: West at Powell on November 1
- West and Powell collectively raised over $1,113 and donated 381 pounds of food!
