KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Gibbs safety Chase Norman and Halls wide receiver Brody Rogers are taking home this week's honors.
On offense, Rogers pulled in eight catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns. However, that's not all the junior made happen on Friday night. Rogers also found the endzone on a punt return in the Red Devils' 64-34 win over South Doyle.
Halls' season hasn't been perfect this year, boasting a 6-2 record, but the Red Devils are looking to end the regular season on a high note, together as a team.
"We play hard as a team together, that's how I won player of the week," said Rogers. "It just feels good to be playing together as a team."
On defense, Norman put on a show. He had three interceptions and three tackles in the 38-7 win over Morristown East. The Eagles are having their best season in school history, and the goal is to continue to stay undefeated.
"It feels really good, we work super hard," said Norman. "This is a really big game for us, and can help put us out there more and prove to teams that we really are good."
Gibbs will look to stay perfect on the year against Anderson County, while Halls takes on West in a 5A battle. Both games are Friday at 7 p.m.
