Former West head football coach Scott Cummings is returning to the Knoxville area as the head football coach for the Halls Red Devils. Cummings confirmed the hiring to WBIR, initially reported by the Times Free Press' Stephen Hargis.
Cummings coached at West for 12 years, winning a state title in 2014 with the Rebels. He left later that year to coach Cleveland. He was there from 2015-2018. The Blue Raiders finished this season with a 4-6 record, falling to Farragut in the first round of the playoffs.
Cummings replaces former head coach Jeremy Bosken who resigned after one season to coach at Boyd-Buchanan.
