Future Lady Vol Lauren Hurst surprises Kim Caldwell with special commitment announcement

Hurst announced her commitment to Tennessee Women's Basketball on Monday.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Four-star Tennessee women's basketball recruit Lauren Hurst announced her commitment to the Lady Vols on Monday. However, her way of letting head coach Kim Caldwell know was a sweet surprise.

Caldwell's assistants sat her down and gave her a white box wrapped in an orange bow. Inside, she found pictures of herself and Hurst. Since Caldwell is pregnant with her first baby, there is also an orange baby bib saying, "My first season."

Caldwell immediately said in the video, "This is a good sign," right after, Hurst walked in to surprise her and the whole coaching staff.

Lauren Hurst, who is ranked top 50 in the 2025 class, picked Tennessee over Clemson and NC State in her final three. She joins twin point guards Mia and Mya Pauldo, five-star wing Deniya Prawl, and four-star guard Jaida Civil.
