KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Fulton football head coach Jeff McMillan has resigned after two seasons serving in that position according to the school.
In his two seasons, he went 6-16 leading the Falcons. Fulton made the playoffs in both seasons but lost in the first round. McMillan coached Marcellus Jackson in 2022 who won 4A Mr. Football honors.
“When you look at things going on in your life and what’s best for the program, I thought it was best to step aide," McMillan told WBIR.
McMillan told WBIR he does not plan on coaching anywhere next season.
McMillan was the defensive coordinator at Fulton from 2011-2013. He was the head coach at Carter High School from 2014-2016. He then came back to Fulton as co-defensive coordinator from 2017 to 2021 before being promoted to head coach after then-head coach Rob Black stepped down.
