KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee pitcher Dylan Loy was named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-American this week.
The Pigeon Forge, TN native made 19 appearances and started in five games for the Vols in his freshman season. In 28.0 innings pitched, Loy posted a 2.25 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP, while striking out 33 batters.
Loy's most impressive performance game was against LSU in the SEC Tournament Championship game. He pitched 4.2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing just two hits and striking out five batters to earn the win.
